A Deeper look on Human-kind in Genesis 1 & 2

 Genesis 1, 2:

I believe that God was setting the bases for all creation as God of the universe and that no one can create or responsible for the creation but him, and that was clear in setting all the details like Gen 1:21 " So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good." And that's mandatory to understand the purpose of the chapter. So, we can see also that man kind is made in God's image, " then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness " Gen 1:26, which means also that we are reflecting his presence as our Lord and that's obvious when we look for the tasks that God gave to Adam and Eve, " And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Gen 1:26, Which looks like a divine task.

This was an opening eye for me to see that the request of being fruitful in Gen 1:28: “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”  is actually a request of creating the same like ourselves, which is also God's task. this is incredible.

Then in Gen 2:16-17 "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” I believe that this was an order for being Holy if we will define holiness as being dedicated to God, so Adam was required to stay dedicated in his thoughts and self to follow God.

In Gen 2:18, "Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”  And here, I started to see that the word helper is not to help him in taking care of his duties but to help him to live as a social image of God, as a man cannot live by himself as a social image; he needs another to have this unity and integration for him, especially a wife, so he can create with her more images of themselves which is more images of God. Wow! Family is so important, it is not only a church for God, but it is the factory of creation of God's image. I have never seen it this way.

Gen 2:19 "Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name." here, it could be the first task of Adam as God's representative, to call things by name. it is like giving them identity.

Gen 2: 23-24 "Then the man said “This, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." Here is the total unity of creation, where they live as they are enveloping one another. and then the proof comes in verse 25: "And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed." this shows how both are one with no limits and nothing to hide because they are in total unity.
